Basic Materials

Perfect for beginners - easy to print and reliable

PLA

Polylactic Acid

EASY
Nozzle: 200-220°C
Bed: 60°C
Chamber: Not needed

Most popular material. Biodegradable, low odor, perfect for prototypes and decorative prints. No enclosure needed.

PETG

Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol

MEDIUM
Nozzle: 230-250°C
Bed: 80°C
Chamber: Optional

Strong and chemical resistant. Great layer adhesion, slight flexibility. Can be stringy - tune retraction carefully.

TPU

Thermoplastic Polyurethane

MEDIUM
Nozzle: 220-240°C
Bed: 60°C
Speed: 30-60 mm/s

Flexible rubber-like material. Print slowly, disable retraction. Perfect for phone cases, gaskets, and shock absorption.

Engineering Materials

High-performance materials for functional parts

ABS

Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene

MEDIUM
Nozzle: 240-260°C
Bed: 90-100°C
Chamber: Required

Strong, heat resistant, can be vapor smoothed. Requires enclosure and ventilation. Prone to warping without proper chamber temperature.

ASA

Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate

HARD
Nozzle: 250-270°C
Bed: 90-110°C
Chamber: Required

UV resistant ABS alternative. Perfect for outdoor use. Even more prone to warping than ABS. Requires good ventilation.

Nylon (PA)

Polyamide

HARD
Nozzle: 250-280°C
Bed: 80-90°C
Drying: Essential

Extremely strong and durable. Hygroscopic - must be dried before printing. Use glue stick on bed for adhesion.

Pro Tips for All Materials

🌡️

First Layer Temperature

Add 5-10°C to nozzle temp for the first layer to improve bed adhesion

💨

Part Cooling

PLA needs 100%, ABS/ASA needs 0-30%, PETG needs 50-80%

💧

Filament Storage

Keep in sealed bags with silica gel. Dry hygroscopic materials before use

🔧

Nozzle Wear

Use hardened nozzles for carbon fiber, glass filled, or glow-in-the-dark filaments
