Which one should I buy?

Get the X1C ($1199) if Lidar quality sensing and AI failure detection matter to you. Get the H2S ($1249) if you need engineering materials (350°C, active chamber) and faster speeds.

X1C

  • Lidar, real-time first-layer scanning for consistent quality
  • AI spaghetti detection, stops failed prints automatically
  • Large established community and accessory ecosystem
  • Micro Lidar flow calibration, more consistent extrusion across filaments

H2S

  • 350°C nozzle, prints PA-CF, PC, PEI, and high-performance materials
  • Active 65°C chamber heating. No passive chamber limitations
  • 1000mm/s max speed, twice as fast as the X1C
  • Larger build volume: 340 × 320 × 340 mm vs 256mm³
  • Newer platform, longer software support expected

A straight choice between quality sensing and material capability

At near-identical prices, the X1C and H2S serve different roles. The X1C is Bambu's quality-focused machine: Lidar catches first-layer problems, AI stops spaghetti failures, and the established ecosystem offers years of community knowledge. The H2S is Bambu's speed and engineering machine: active chamber, 350°C nozzle, and 1000mm/s give it capabilities the X1C simply can't match.

Neither is universally better. The decision comes down entirely to your materials and workflow.

Get the X1C if...

  • Lidar first-layer verification is important to your workflow
  • You run long unattended prints and need AI failure detection
  • You print PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, nothing above 300°C
  • You want the established ecosystem and community support

Get the H2S if...

  • You need 350°C nozzle for PA-CF, PC, PEI, or similar materials
  • Active chamber heating is essential for your prints
  • You need the larger build volume (340mm vs 256mm)
  • Speed is a priority: 1000mm/s vs 500mm/s matters for your output

Currently no single Bambu machine combines Lidar with 350°C nozzle capability. If both are critical to your work, you're looking at a two-printer setup or a different brand entirely. For most users, pick the one that matches your primary material: if you're engineering-material focused, the H2S. If you're quality-and-convenience focused, the X1C.
