What happened in Venezuela
On June 24, 2026, two major earthquakes, magnitude 7.2 and 7.5, hit Venezuela within hours of each other. Bambu's press release calls them the strongest seismic events there in more than a century. Beyond the immediate destruction, the quakes left hospitals and clinics short on basic medical supplies, the kind of gap where 3D printing has become an unlikely first responder.
That is not a metaphor. Bambu has been supplying filament and printers to LayerLab, its Venezuelan distributor, which has been printing priority relief items locally, things like the arm orthosis in the photo above. "Bambu Lab's filament and material support has fulfilled what we need to keep production running on the ground," LayerLab's Carlos Hernández says in the release.

Worth calling out honestly: charity drives that run through a company's own store are also marketing, and this one will sell a lot of filament. But the donation math here is better than the usual "we donate our profits" construction, since MSRP is the highest number in the equation.
