Bambu Lab Firmware Tracker
The latest firmware for every Bambu printer on one page, with what changed and whether to update
Current state of the lineup
The freshest firmware now sits on the H2D (01.04.00.00, August 26), which went from the longest-neglected machine in the lineup to the most recently updated one in a single release. It adds support for the Filament Track Switch, the dual-nozzle accessory that maps AMS feeds to both hotends, plus a manual color reset for RFID-synced filament. The X1C and X1E follow at 23 days, still being patched after the line was retired: Bambu committed to fixes through May 2027 when it discontinued the series, and that promise is being kept. At the other end, the P1P and P1S have now waited 150 days, the longest gap in the current lineup, since their external-spool multicolor update in March.

Days since last firmware update
One number Bambu never shows you side by side: how long each printer has been waiting for attention (as of August 27, 2026).
Update now or wait?
Bambu's own pages tell you what changed; they never tell you whether to install it. Our honest defaults:
- Point releases (last digit pairs): install. They are bug and security fixes; waiting buys you nothing.
- Major version jumps: give it a week. New feature waves occasionally ship regressions; the firmware announcement threads surface problems within days. Nothing about printing forces you to be first.
- LAN-mode and OrcaSlicer users: read the notes first. Since the January 2025 Authorization Control change, firmware updates can alter how third-party software reaches the printer. Background: What is Bambu Connect? and the AGPL dispute.
- X1C owners: install it. The August 2026 build is the first in 238 days and carries security fixes, so there is no reason to sit it out. The series is still EOL, but Bambu's support commitment runs to May 2027, so expect patches rather than features.
- Betas: opt-in only via the forum. Public betas (announced in the forum) do not install over the air by default. Skip them on machines you rely on.
How this page works
We check the official release-history pages for all eleven printers and update this table when a new version ships; our news radar covers firmware announcements within hours, and notable releases get a full article (like Bambu Studio 2.8.1 on the software side). For the update procedure itself, including offline updates from SD card, see our firmware update guide.
