The A1 mini prints PLA and PETG in a 180 mm cube, open, simply, cheaply. The X2D prints nearly everything a 256 mm enclosed printer can: ABS/ASA reliably in its actively heated 65C chamber, with an auxiliary nozzle and 25-color AMS 2.0 on the newest platform.
The mini is the right first printer for most people; the X2D is the right first printer for people who already know they need engineering materials or serious multi-material work and would otherwise upgrade within a year.
