Both print 256 mm cubes. The A1 does it open on a bed-slinger platform: superb for PLA, PETG and TPU, hopeless for large ABS. The X2D does it enclosed with a 65C active chamber, dual cameras, AMS 2.0 and an auxiliary nozzle, so its material ceiling is dramatically higher.
The A1's pitch is unchanged since 2023: most hobbyists never leave PLA/PETG, so why pay for walls. The X2D's pitch is 2026: if you ever will, buy the walls once, heated.
